My Blood Pressure has been rather high recently, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways to lower High Blood Pressure without Medication?

  1. For me losing weight – 35 lbs – has dropped my blood pressure. Just had a 114/80 reading and I had been in the 135/95. Mostly ended all white bread and wheat bread and no deserts. Low glycemic index diet in combination with being aware to stay under 2000 calories a day.

  2. I lowered my blood pressure with exercise. I ride a stationery bicycle for at least twenty minutes every day (I buy dvds of TV show seasons and look forward to seeing the next episode every morning…that’s how I stay motivated). I lost fifteen pounds.
    I watched my salt intake but not really closely (I don’t eat fast food or frozen dinners that are usually high in sodium).
    The exercise/weight loss really helped me.

    exercise
    Eat fresh fruits and vegetable
    don’t eat a lot of salt
    watch your stress
    if it is hereditary, you might not be able to control it, so you may have to take medication.

  5. High blood pressure can be controlled considerably by diet…stay away from salty foods. Examples of food high in salt are lunchmeats, subs, canned soups and vegetables, table salt of course…things like that.
    Exercise is also another way that you can lower your blood pressure. I’m not talking about high impact aerobics of course, I’m talking exercise like swimming and walking.
    And lets just be safe here and say that it wouldn’t hurt to see a doctor.

  11. Niacin, that’s what the doc is gonna give you anyway. They have a non flushing kind as well. If you use the flushing kind,pop a asprin at the same time. So you wont be as hot. And take it calm and easy
